" During my term as Bangkok Governor, we found a lot of problems regarding stray dogs. We organized seminars to find solutions to deal with stray dogs that not only were the source of rabies but also dirt and disorder in Bangkok. Actually, it was not the dogs to be blame, but the irresponsible people.. Many people love and care for the dogs during they are puppies but later they get bored and no longer want to keep them..and just easily abandon them. To solve the problem, we then need to take care for those stray dogs. People hardly realized about the problem. They think it's useless and a waste of time. They don't realize that this is a kind of public service. Animal shelter was then established in 1987 in Tung-see-kan, Don Muang district. Later, we moved to Kanchanaburi and changed the name to be Animal Shelter - Kanchanburi with the area of 38 rais and almost 2500 animals. The expense each month is about 400,000 - 500,000 bahts. The money we earn mostly comes from donations of those not so rich people. To help stray dogs, we automatically help solving social problems. We actually need specific laws to enforce responsibility on people who wish to have pets. People need to be educated to understand each kind of pets and must be ready to take responsibilities for them.
Thais are benevolent people.. So, please lend us a hand in helping solving the problems..or kindly support the foundation by donations..not only money..it could be old or used stuff such as..water tanks, pieces of wood, towels etc. Please directly contact
